GSCF Governance Committees

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee oversees all operational aspects of the organization, including the implementation of the Federation’s strategy and membership issues, providing advice and vetting items before they are considered by the Board Members for final decision making. The Executive Committee is elected from the Board representing both company and associations.

There are two sub-committees of the Executive Committee - the Finance and Personnel Committees. The Finance Committee assists the Board with the organization's accounting, financial reporting, and financial compliance practices.

The Personnel Committee oversees all aspects of human resource management for the federation, in compliance with local labor law. Members of these committees are appointed by the Executive Committee from the membership.

Regulatory Affairs Committee

The GSCF Regulatory Affairs Committee leads strategic engagement with regulators to support science-based, proportionate frameworks for OTC products, regulatory convergence, and innovation in self-care access. Devoted working groups from the Regulatory workstream include:

the Africa Self Care Strategy Committee
the Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements Taskforce

Policy Committee

The GSCF Policy Committee focuses on having self-care recognized as a key pillar to advance UHC and disease prevention while engaging with global actors such as the WHO and OECD.This work aims to advance the self-care agenda in key global health policy forums, such as the World Health Assembly, the UN High-Level Meetings and beyond, ensuring self-care is embedded in relevant public health initiatives and campaigns at the global level. Devoted working groups from the Policy workstream include:

Communications & Public Affairs Committee

The Communications & Public Affairs Committee provides strategic input and counsel pertaining to all communication-related issues relevant to the organization. Members include an array of global communications experts across industry and associations within the field of consumer health. The GSCF Communications & Public Affairs Committee drives GSCF’s global visibility and advocacy by delivering impactful communications, leveraging evidence on the benefits of self-care, and leading flagship initiatives such as the International Self-Care Day campaign.

Environmental Sustainability Committee

The GSCF Environment Sustainability Committee collaborates across the industry to reduce the environmental footprint of self-care products by addressing packaging, plastic pollution, and sustainable product life cycles. Devoted working groups from the Environmental workstream include:
