Highlights from the 55th AESGP Annual Meeting in Geneva

4th-6th June, 2019: Convening more the 300 delegates, the 3-day 55th AESGP Annual Meeting ‘Evolving the self-care environment’ took place earlier in June with a dynamic conference program of diverse topics covered by a broad array of speakers. Discussions took place on the themes of Self-Care for Health, addressing Societal Concerns, Nudging for Self-Care, Brands and Public Health, Harnessing Real-World Evidence for Self-Care, National Good Practices in Self-Care, and addressing Alternative Scenarios.

Together with Jen Del Carlo from Deloitte, Global Self-Care Federation Chair Alan Main (Sanofi Consumer Healthcare), and Board Members Jurate Svarcaite (AESGP), Scott Melville (CHPA) and Tatsuo Kurokawa (JSMI) participated in a dedicated panel discussion around the topic of Future Trends in Self-Care facilitated by Director General, Judy Stenmark. The session addressed some of the global trends and drivers of the self-care environment with animated discussions around trust, sustainability of healthcare systems, health data as well as addressing topical areas of interest on CBD and environmental sustainability within the industry.

55th AESGP

The AESGP Annual Meeting was also an optimal time for the Global Self-Care Federation to unveil its new identity during the opening reception event. Martin Bangerter, Director of the Swiss Self Medication Industry, opened the official AESGP reception in the memorable Red Cross & Red Crescent Museum, before interventions were made from Chair, Alan Main, DG, Judy Stenmark, and Oksana Pyzik, Global Engagement Lead at the University College of London.

The subsequent 56th edition of the AESGP Annual Meeting is scheduled to take place in Milan between 26-28 May, 2020, promising to be another informative meeting.
