Location: Geneva, Switzerland (or within close proximity) - Candidates should be based in Geneva or within reasonable travel distance, with the ability to maintain a regular in-person presence in Geneva to support engagement with WHO and other global health stakeholders.
Position Description
The Global Health Lead plays a central role in advancing the Federation’s objective to position self-care within global health frameworks.
Working closely with the Director General, the role supports the strategic placement of self-care across key global health agendas.
The role requires a strong understanding of the global health ecosystem together with the ability to operate effectively within it—engaging at technical and policy level with WHO and other international institutions, while contributing to the development of high-level strategy with GSCF members.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the Director General in positioning self-care within global health and institutional agendas.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the Federation’s global health strategy.
- Translate strategic priorities into actionable initiatives, outputs, and engagement plans.
- Manage the GSCF Policy Committee and drive its strategic agenda, including integration of Self Care into Universal Health Coverage (UHC) priorities
- Lead and coordinate the Global Policy Advisory Group, ensuring high-quality expert engagement.
- Oversee policy-related working groups, ensuring alignment, coherence, and delivery of outputs, working closely with designated experts and consultants.
- Lead the development of papers, briefs, and advocacy materials, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Work alongside other GSCF leads covering regulatory, sustainability, and communications activities.
- Lead day-to-day engagement with WHO, UN institutions, and Member State missions.
- Support and contribute to high-level engagement led by the Director General.
- Coordinate and contribute to key global health processes, including WHO Executive Board (EB), World Health Assembly (WHA), United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), and World Health Summit (WHS).
- Develop and deliver interventions, statements, and written contributions.
- Work effectively within a global industry trade association context, aligning diverse member perspectives.
- Engage with stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem, including biopharmaceutical, consumer health, digital health, and diagnostics sectors.
- Ensure outputs reflect both public health priorities and a strong understanding of industry dynamics.
Basic Skills & Requirements
Education: Advanced degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Law, Pharmacy, Medicine, International Relations, or a related field.
Experience:
- 7–10 years of experience in global health and advocacy within the Geneva global health environment (essential).
- Strong, demonstrated track record of engagement with WHO, UN institutions, and Member State missions (essential).
- Experience working in or closely with the healthcare industry, with a clear understanding of its structure and environment (essential).
- Solid familiarity with the Geneva global health ecosystem and how to operate effectively within it (essential).
- Experience within an industry trade association or similar multi-stakeholder organisation (strong advantage).

- Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels in a small team environment.
- Excellent drafting skills, with proven ability to produce high-quality documents independently.
- Experience managing committees, expert groups, and multi-stakeholder processes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Sound business acumen and understanding of industry perspectives.
- Confident representation skills in international and institutional settings.
- Self-sufficient, proactive, and able to balance leadership with hands-on delivery.
- Fluency in English is essential; other languages (especially French, Spanish, or Arabic) are an advantage.
